Mr. OKUDA Tetsuya President of Japan Transport and Tourism Research Institute ASEAN-India Regional Office (JTTRI-AIRO) did the survey on Thailand Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)
On Friday 20 June, 2025 AIRO Mr. OKUDA Tetsuya President of Japan Transport and Tourism Research Institute ASEAN-India Regional Office (JTTRI-AIRO) did the survey on Thailand Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)
The area of this survey includes the route from Nararam III station to Sathorn Station (Interchange station with BTS Skytrain). Recently, it appeared that Bangkok has conducted construction along surveyed routes causing some inconvenience for passengers to ride BRT. We can see the ticket office and many ticket kiosks have been left abandoned for long time with no maintenance. The payment system is also differences form ordinary buses in Bangkok since there is no staff for collecting money on board, all the payment is made cashless, forcing passengers to pay via card or online payment. Finally, AIRO has conducted a survey on interchange routes that connect the BRT to BTS Skytrain.
