Privacy Policy
Japan Transport and Tourism Research Institute ASEAN-India Regional Office (hereinafter referred to as "JTTRI-AIRO") has established the privacy policy regarding the handling of personal information of all individuals who use the JTTRI-AIRO’s website (hereinafter referred to as "Users").
1. Protection of Personal Information

JTTRI-AIRO shall comply with the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019) in Thailand (hereinafter referred to as “PDPA”) and other applicable regulations concerning the protection of personal information (information concerning a living individual that can be used to identify a specific individual, directly or indirectly by name, date of birth, e-mail address or other description), by properly acquiring, using, disclosing, managing and disposing the information.

2. Purpose of Acquisition and Use of Personal Information
  • (1) Access log
    JTTRI-AIRO may collect domain names, IP addresses, and other browsing information of Users. That information will be used to analyze the use of the website and to improve services in the future.
  • (2) User Information
    JTTRI-AIRO collects personal information of Users as necessary when Users make inquiries. The information to be collected includes contact information such as address, name, affiliation, title, telephone number, and e-mail address. In addition to communicate and respond to inquiries, the acquired information may be forwarded to related departments within Japan Transport and Tourism Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as “JTTRI") depending on the content of the inquiry.
  • (3) Application for Events, etc.
    JTTRI-AIRO obtains personal information when Users apply for events and other activities. In addition to confirmation of the application for events, the acquired information may be forwarded to the relevant departments within JTTRI for the smooth implementation of events.
    JTTRI-AIRO may also obtain other personal information as necessary to conduct ordinary business activities.
  • In connection with one or more of the purposes stated above, JTTRI-AIRO may forward the acquired information to third-party agents/suppliers or contractors bound by obligations of confidentiality (this may include, without limitation to, financial organizations, business advisors, law firms, marketing agencies, accounting system providers, and IT service providers).
    On the limited occasions, the acquired information may be forwarded outside of Thailand, such as Japan and the United State of America. Countries outside of Thailand may not have personal information protection laws as comprehensive as those that exist in Thailand, and the same level of protection as that set forth in the PDPA may not necessarily be guaranteed. In such case, JTTRI-AIRO shall implement the necessary safety management measures pursuant to the requirements of the PDPA.
3. Provision of the Acquired Personal Information

JTTRI-AIRO does not provide any acquired personal information to any third parties for any purposes other than those described in Section 2, except for cases in which JTTRI-AIRO is permitted by law to do so, such as when JTTRI-AIRO obtains the prior consent of Users, when any of the following items apply, or when JTTRI-AIRO is entrusted with personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use.

  • (1) In cases based on laws and regulations which JTTRI-AIRO is subjected to.
  • (2) In cases where the provision of personal information is necessary for the prevention or suppression of any threat or danger over a person's life, body, or health.
  • (3) In cases where the provision of personal information is necessary for the legitimate interests pursued by JTTRT-AIRO as a controller of personal information or interests of a third party other than JTTRI-AIRO, except where the fundamental rights and freedoms of Users regarding the protection of their personal information override these interests.
  • (4) In cases where the provision of personal information is necessary for carrying out the activities in relation to substantial public interest or in the exercise of a national agency, a local government, or an individual or entity entrusted by either of the foregoing in performing duties as prescribed by laws vested to JTTRI-AIRO.
  • (5) In cases where the provision of personal information is necessary for the performance of a contract to which Users is a party or in order to take steps at the request of Users prior to entering into a contract.
4. Security measures
  • (1) Management of Personal Information
    JTTRI-AIRO shall take necessary measures to prevent leakage, damage, loss, misuse, falsification, etc., of the acquired personal information and to manage it appropriately.
  • (2) Supervision of Contractors
    JTTRI-AIRO may entrust the handling of personal information, in whole or in part, to a third party. In such a case, JTTRI-AIRO shall select an entity that is deemed to handle the personal information appropriately, and shall stipulate in the outsourcing contract appropriate measures for security control, confidentiality, conditions for re-subcontracting, return of the personal information upon termination of the outsourcing contract, and other matters concerning the handling of personal information, and shall implement necessary and appropriate supervision.
5. User’s rights

Users have the rights to access, request the correction or deletion of, request the limitation of collecting, using, or disclosing of, object to the collecting, using, or disclosing of, withdraw consent, and request the data portability of the personal information retained by JTTRI-AIRO. If a User wishes to make a request regarding the aforementioned rights, please contact the address in Section 11 below. If JTTRI-AIRO receives a request based on such rights from a User, JTTRI-AIRO shall comply with the request in accordance with the laws and regulations after confirming that the request is made by the User. If a User has given a consent for a specific purpose to JTTRI-AIRO, the User can withdraw the consent at any time. However, the withdrawal of such consent shall not affect the collecting, using, or disclosing of the information for which the User has already legally given consent to JTTRI-AIRO.

Users also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Committee if Users have any complaint regarding JTTRI-AIRO’s handing of the personal information.

6. Scope of Application of the Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the entire website of JTTRI-AIRO.

7. Information storage and Retention Period

Personal Information will be stored securely in JTTRI-AIRO data server or in a third party’s data server. JTTRI-AIRO will strictly control access to this information and will review such access control from time to time.

JTTRI-AIRO will not keep personal information for longer than is required for the purposes for which it has been collected or used, in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations, or, in any case, to allow JTTRI-AIRO to protect its legitimate rights and interests or those of third parties. To determine the appropriate retention period for the personal information, JTTRI-AIRO shall consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal information; the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of the personal information; the purposes for which JTTRI-AIRO uses the personal information and whether JTTRI-AIRO can achieve those purposes through other means; and the applicable legal requirements.

8. Personal Information of others Provided by Users

In certain situations, Users may provide the personal information of others to JTTRI-AIRO. It is Users’ responsibilities to confirm that such other persons have consented to the handling and disclosing of their personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy, and Users shall be authorized to receive any privacy notice and other related information on their behalf.

9. Minor

JTTRI-AIRO does not knowingly collect personal information from a minor under the age of 20 without the consent of his/her parents or guardians. If JTTRI-AIRO learns that personal information of any minor has been collected, JTTRI-AIRO will obtain the consent of his/her parents or guardians or take reasonable measures to promptly delete such information from records.

10. Changes to the Privacy Policy

JTTRI-AIRO may change the contents of this Privacy Policy as necessary. Any changes to this policy will be posted on this website.
