On Tuesday, January 12, 2026, AIRO had a meeting with H.E. Mr. Arkhom TERMPITTAYAPAISITH Former Minister of Finance and Former Minister of Transport at Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC).

Mr. Tomita Akihiro, Executive Director of the Japan Transport and Tourism Research Institute ASEAN-India Regional Office (JTTRI-AIRO), had the honor of meeting with H.E. Mr. Arkhom Termpittayapaisith. During the meeting, JTTRI-AIRO formally invited His Excellency to deliver a greeting address at the upcoming 2nd Thai–Japan Railway Workshop, scheduled to be held next week. His Excellency kindly accepted the invitation. Furthermore, His Excellency emphasized the importance of decarbonization in the transport sector, the efforts should extend beyond the railway sector to include road transport and the automotive sector. JTTRI-AIRO highly values His Excellency’s insights and looks forward to continuing cooperation and contributing to future research and studies in support of sustainable transport development.
