On Thursday, July 9, 2026,  Mr. TOMITA, Executive Director, Mr. SHIROKI Takeshi the newly appointed Executive Director had a meeting with Dr. Pichet KHUNADHAMMARAK, Director-General of the Department of Rail Transport (DRT), Ministry of Transport (MOT).

JTTRI-AIRO held a meeting with Dr. Pichet, Director-General of the Department of Rail Transport (DRT). During the meeting, Mr. SHIROKI, the newly appointed Executive Director of JTTRI-AIRO, was introduced to Dr. Pichet, marking an important step in continuing the close relationship between the two organizations. Both sides reviewed their cooperation through the 1st and 2nd Thailand–Japan Railway Workshops, which focused respectively on railway safety and decarbonization in the railway sector. The discussions also covered preparations for the 3rd Thailand–Japan Railway Workshop, including its proposed theme of “Railways and Tourism” and potential areas of cooperation. JTTRI-AIRO expressed its appreciation for DRT’s continued support and cooperation and looks forward to working closely with DRT to further develop the upcoming workshop and strengthen Thailand–Japan cooperation in the railway sector.
