Safety and Accessibility of Transport Sector in ASEAN-India Region
AIRO conducted Phase 1 of the Transport Safety and Accessibility Study from October 2021 to February 2022. We held an online meeting to share the survey results and exchange opinions on the current situation and issues of each country as above mentioned. It was held in a limited manner within AIRO members and government officials from the eight targeted countries in the Phase 1 project. In this online meeting, the AIRO expressed greatest gratitude for the support  to the AIRO’s activities from countries that participate in it. We also provided the summary of the Phase 1 project results for information sharing. After that, commentators of each targeted country expressed their experience and exchanged meaningful comments and opinions on the current situation and issues needed to tackle. Through the Phase 1 project and the online meeting, we have learned that some country has the same common issue and can be manipulated by policy and measure that has already been implemented in some countries. We could say that it was a good opportunity for mutual understanding and getting idea each other and it would provide a new window to the better in safety and accessibility of transport in each targeted country. We will continue its study project as phase 2 on the same theme based on the results of phase 1 and this online meeting. Therefore, AIRO is looking forward to cooperation from many parties about the phase 1 follow-up and coming Phase 2 project.
