- Improvement of Logistics in ASEAN Island Region (Part2) -
JTTRI-AIRO in now conducting further research focusing on the Philippines and Indonesia as cases of “island area of ASEAN region,” with the aim of identifying challenges and solutions for improving logistics in the area. In February 2025, the first symposium was held in Manila, the Philippines, where these issues and proposed solutions were discussed. JTTRI-AIRO is supposed to organize another symposium in Jakarta, focusing on improving logistics in Indonesia. The event will feature research presentations on proposed policy directions, considering both the applicability of logistics improvement measures from past research —such as enhancing intermodal connectivity, utilizing ICT, and strengthening cooperation among logistics stakeholders—and the specific logistics conditions in Indonesia. Through discussions with experts, the symposium aims to explore effective strategies for building efficient logistics systems within Indonesia, as well as to enhance regional logistics networks with neighboring countries and Japan.
